Disco balls, flamingos, flowers and rainbows again and again. These are the defining elements in the Plaroids by Eva Silberknoll. The staged photos are embroidered with thick yarn, glittering threads and beads of all kinds. The motto ‘Always keep on dancing’ runs like a common thread through these series of works. The discotheque opened up a space for the artist where anything was possible. Detached from everyday life, you could reinvent yourself and redefine your own identity on the dancefloor. With the embroidered Polaroids, she creates space for the very own dreams and fantasies.
